The first collaboration between Matière Noire and Maison Margiela, the scenography and light design of the SS’25 presentation stages a discrete and intangible game of shadows and constriction serving the quiet elegance of the collection. Taking the blank canvas of the location as its starting point, the proposition builds on a sober reinterpretation of the essentials of scenography, using technical light systems as architectural elements. Haunting the raw set, a first light rig hangs low from the ceiling, enclosing the space and casting a strong warm light on the passing models, while a second structure floats higher, emitting a colder hue that traces abstract shadows on the barren runway.
