Matière Noire is a Paris-based creative studio leading new approaches to spacial design. Built on a network of parallel disciplines, our operation cultivates ambivalence, using observational methods to ground its intuitive impulses. Matière Noire is driven by an appetite for the undefined, the hypothetical, the intangible. Its process celebrates unexpected derivations, developing them into bespoke applications of cross-cultural collaboration.

Staged in the vaulted volume of the Palais de Tokyo, Time’s SS’24 runway presentation carves minimilastic shadows out of textured surfaces. Curved panels sinew down the runway like poetic brackets in a poetry of motion, a Land-Art vestige brought indoors. One face is rouch-cast, emulating the soft grain of stone, the Barisol exterior etches a sleek, futuristic edge down the spine of the catwalk. Shifting from one side to the other, the season’s silhouettes dispel subtle shadow patterns on the concrete floor.
